Copy That... Re-Use Pipe Designs

In another segment of Tube & Pipe design, today we'll look at copying an existing pipe run. There are a couple of options after you make a copy, keep it associate to the original, or make it a seperate instance. In the video we'll take a look at both. Either way, it is quite easy to re-use existing Tube & Pipe runs in your designs.

Tube & Pipe Fittings

Today we'll look at a few tricks for placing fittings utilizing Inventor's Tube & Pipe capabilities. You can easily add fittings either in "sketch" display or after the route has been populated. This can make it easy to see what you are doing in complicated runs. We'll also take a look at how you can easily swap out fittings without having to delete and re-insert them.

Let's take a look.....

Laying Some Tube and Pipe

While visiting with customers the past couple of weeks, undoubtably there comes a question that I cannot answer due to being less than knowledgable about their specific business needs. A recent visit landed me at someone wanting to know if the tube and pipe module in Inventor had the capability to out put .xyz or .lra files for bending machines.

Huh? Stumped the Chump on that one. But, back at the back CAD Cave, I discovered my friends at Autodesk have me covered again.

Like I always say...your a right click away from finding what you need in Inventor!
Yes I modeled my house in Inventor...it helps for future planning and helps sell the "boss" on improvements. More to come on that topic.
